Nienhiser Puts Both KO Motorsports Cars in Fall Fling Features

PETERSEN MEDIA: Climbing aboard two KO Motorsports machines over the weekend at the Fall Fling in Kokomo, IN, Paul Nienhiser was a little disappointed with how his night ended in both divisions but was happy to be one of two drivers to make both features.

“We had a great night racing together, they really are an awesome group to race with,” Paul Nienhiser said. “The KO Motorsports team has really fast cars, but we didn’t quite get to showcase everything we had. However, being only one of two drivers to make both features speaks volumes.”

In World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car action, the Chapin, IL driver would time the Hutson John Deere/Davis Brothers/Engler Machine and Tool backed No. 5K in 12th fastest in his time trial flight.

Lining up sixth in his heat race, Nienhiser was focused on earning one of the five transfers directly into the feature event. Getting off to a great start at the Indiana Bullring, Nienhiser would look to make a move for third until close quarters action forced him on the binders.

Falling out of the fourth spot, Nienhiser would hang on to fifth at the stripe and successfully transfer directly into the Winged Sprint Car feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 19th starting position, Nienhiser to feel very comfortable in the winged car as he was able to work his way forward during the first 20-lap of the 40-lap feature event.

As he continued to make headway, trouble would strike in front of him as two cars got together. Leaving Nienhiser with nowhere to go, contact would ensue causing extensive damage to his rear-end and it would force him to retire from the feature event.

Also competing in Non-Wing action on this night, Nienhiser would just narrowly miss the heat race inversion in group qualifying as he timed in fifth fastest in his group, placing him fifth on the starting grid of his heat race.

With the surface narrow and right around the bottom in this heat, passing would be at a premium and Nienhiser’s fifth place finish put him in the night’s ‘B’ main.

Lining up third in the semi, Nienhiser would continue to adapt to the KO Motorsports Non-Wing entry. Finding a nice line that suited him well, Nienhiser would continue to show speed in the Davis Brothers/LST Shocks machine as he would finish second and keep his night going into the feature event.

Lining up 20th in the ‘A’, Nienhiser would simply choose the line where another car wasn’t. Moving through the field, the Chapin, IL driver would crack the Top-10 with less than 10-laps to go in the feature event.

Missing his mark with a couple of laps to go, Nienhiser would get sideways, though was able to keep his machine under power. Unfortunately, the yellow flag would waive for him, and he would be relegated to the rear of the field.

In the final laps, Nienhiser would recoup what he could as he ended the night with a 16th place finish.

“We had a long way to go to get to the front in both features, but I felt really good in both cars, and we just had some bad luck,” Nienhiser said. “I really want to send them a huge thanks for the opportunity to hop in both of their cars on Saturday night.”

KO Motorsports would like to thank Hutson John Deere, Davis Brothers, Engler Machine and Tool, and LST Shocks for their continued support.

Nienhiser would like to thank CAM2 Blue Blood Racing Oil, Mason Sound, Innovative Design, Bradshaw Custom Pumping, Wessler Bros.
